English: Recommended Three-Year Path

Notes:

  • The English Major has four different concentrations/tracks. Students who concentrate in Literature must complete a minimum of 36 credits. Because English majors who study one of the other three concentrations must complete a minimum of 48 credits, only English majors who concentrate in Literature would be eligible to graduate in three years.
  • The English Department regularly offers a rich variety of 200-level and 300-level English courses (online, in person, and study abroad) during the summer.
  • All Liberal Arts and Sciences students are required to take two semesters of language at the 200 level or above. Students wishing to complete their studies in three years should try to test out of one or more semesters of language; however, the schedule presumes the student has not tested out of any courses.
