Why I Stayed 10/28 at 6:00 p.m. PB 150
Former Butler student, Hannah,
who survived sexual assault and four years in a violent marriage,
invites faculty, staff, and students to hear her story. After
leaving the marriage, she vowed not to remain silent about her
story-the story of so many other women. For the past two years, she
has been outspoken in the community about the issues of sexual
assault and domestic violence, giving a voice to those who haven't
yet found their own voice. Join us to hear Hannah's story and talk
with representatives from Butler's Counseling and Consultation
Services and Victim Advocate Program as well as representatives
from local agencies providing free services to survivors and their
loved ones. This program is sponsored by the Office of Health
Education and Outreach Programs, Counseling and Consultation
Services, and REACH.

Oxfam Hunger Banquet 11/14
This year, the Volunteer Center will be hosting our second
annual Oxfam American Hunger Banquet. Nearly 870 million people
suffer from chronic hunger in America and more than 2.5 billion
people live in poverty. This event will randomly divide students
into different "social classes": lower, middle, and upper
class. Students will then be given a meal according to
their respective class and engage in discussion about the effects
of hunger and poverty in America, specifically in
Indianapolis. The event will be held in the
Johnson Room of Robertson Hall on Friday, November
14th from 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM. There is
no charge for the event; however, we want to acknowledge that
students will ONLY receive the meal designated to their respective
social class. Space is limited for the first 100
students, so please RSVP today by filling out the
form. We hope to see you there!
