A Distinctive Educational Model

Founder’s College at Butler University provides an affordable pathway for historically underserved students from the Indianapolis area who want to pursue education after high school. Students enrolled in the College can obtain their associate’s degree with little to no debt or out-of-pocket expenses, and most will have the opportunity to continue at Butler and earn a bachelor’s degree in an affordable manner. This new college will offer access to a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for success, holistic wrap-around services, dedicated student support, and University facilities. While the specific programs to be offered by the college will be named in spring 2024, some of the focus areas include business and allied health. All programs will include Butler’s Core Curriculum, the liberal arts learning central to all Butler degrees. Students will have paid internships and a clear path to earn a bachelor’s degree at Butler.

Butler recognizes that potential is equally distributed, but opportunity is not. As a result, thousands of high-potential students graduate from Indianapolis area high schools or earn their GEDs each year that cannot access a Butler Education. This is often due to two main factors: the structure of how a Butler undergraduate degree is delivered and the cost. Founder’s College addresses both barriers to cultivate an environment to serve these talented students.
