At Butler University, we want to share our knowledge, resources, and talents with our greater community. We want to learn from others' perspectives and collaborate with them to address common concerns. We want to model how our students can discover their own paths to make a difference in their world.

We expose incoming students to their new community through Ambassadors of Change and Bulldogs in the Streets, and thoughtful co-curricular activities, such as College Mentors for Kids and Bulldogs Being Big, programs that foster positive mentoring relationships between children and college students. Our Indianapolis Community Requirement provides students active, reciprocal learning experiences with city residents and organizations-experiences integrated within courses and geared to furthering students' ongoing relationships with community and service. Students and faculty can expand their involvement in crucial public issues, through initiatives such as the Center for Urban Ecology, BU Community Outreach Pharmacy, and our partnerships with area public schools.

Butler welcomes the public to explore challenging ideas with us through our Visiting Writing Series, multi-day Butler ArtsFest, and the Celebration of Diversity Distinguished Lecture Series.

Discover the many ways Butler engages with its greater community.
