Butler Community Arts School

Promoting broad access to high-quality arts instruction.

The Butler Community Arts School (BCAS) enriches the lives of those in the community by providing access to high-quality arts education. BCAS serves as a dynamic catalyst for arts education and innovation, fostering creativity and cultural enrichment on Butler’s campus in Indianapolis, Indiana.

What is the Butler Community Arts School?

The Butler Community Arts School (BCAS), an initiative of the Jordan College of the Arts, opened its doors to the community in September 2002. Since then, the BCAS has offered performing arts instruction to anyone ages 5 and up, including adults.

Taught by Butler University students and community artists known as Teaching Artists, the BCAS believes in the importance of providing high quality, affordable instruction to music, dance, theatre, and visual art to Indianapolis and the surrounding communities.

Whether you or your child is a budding artist or has previous arts experiences, you will find a program that meets your needs at the BCAS.

High Quality. Community-Based.
