Last week I just happened to be walking on the mall when I saw blogger Katie at her sorority’s philanthropy event. It was “Pie A Pi Phi.” If you donated money to the cause they were raising for, you were able to pie one of the sorority members. Normally I am opposed to wasting such good food but it was for charity. I, unfortunately, did not have any cash on hand but I gave my moral support to the cause.
Even Blue 2 and Blue 3 participated in the festivities by getting pied and licking whipped cream off of people’s faces! Let’s just say that those dogs are out of control. Even VP for Student Affairs LJ (Levester Johnson) got involved! To see more about it, you can check out Katie’s post.
For my Political Science class, we were given the opportunity to see a play downtown tonight. The play was called “The Syringa Tree” and was a one woman play. The woman who put on the performance is friends with our professor.
The play was 90 minutes long, which is impressive considering there was no intermission so bravo to her for not needing a break and for being able to remember her lines! I remember when I did plays in elementary school and complained about having to learn 30 lines!
The play was through the eyes of a girl living in South Africa during apartheid. This is interesting since this is exactly the topic we are discussing in class so it is interesting to see it tangibly before your eyes.
I really enjoyed the play and hope to go to more in the future!
Before it started!
The weather has been awkwardly depressing lately. Not only has it been cold, it has been drizzling/raining. I’ve had to start wearing my jacket and bundling up. I guess fall is coming with a vengeance this year. I’ve been listening to Adele to prepare myself for this weather and so far it has been working.
With October just starting, I can’t help but think about how soon Halloween is. I think I also might actually dress up this year! So far I have no idea what I want to be but I’m sure I’ll think of something. I’m thinking of visiting my friends at IU for Halloween so that should be fun.
