DC Semester Important Dates

Spring 2018

January 12: Move-in date at the Congressional.

January 13-15: Nation's Capital as Text will be meeting all three dates.

January 16: Internships begin. 

Feb 8 – Feb 10: Short course #1: Prof. Sam Yates, “Staging a Capitol Idea: New Play Development in Washington DC.”

February 9: applications are due for students wanting to participate in the 2018-19 academic year.

March 22-March 24, Short course #2: Prof. Beau Weston “The American Welfare State: Why Do We Do It That Way?”

April 12-April 14, Short course #3:  Prof. Terri Jett “Black America: Telling the Story.” (This will include a Friday trip to the African American museum.)

April 26: Last day of internships.

April 28: Move-out date at the Congressional.

Fall 2018

August 24: Move-in date at the Congressional.

August 25: Nation's Capital as Text class will meet today. Save this date!

August 27: Internships begin.

August 28 and occasional Tuesdays: Nation's Capital as Text meets at 7 pm

August 29 and occasional Wednesdays (with some weekend museum outings): Arts of Public Washington meets at 7 pm.

September 13-15, Short course #1 DC 301 01: “A National Contradiction: Slavery and Freedom in the District of Columbia” (Prof. Antwain Hunter)

October 11-13, Short course #2 DC 301 02: “Sharing Your Voice: Advocacy 101.” (Prof. Brenda Johnston)

November 1-3, Short course #3 DC 301 03 “Staging a Capitol Idea: New Play Development in Washington, DC” 

December 6 or 7: Last day of internships.

December 8: Move-out date at the Congressional.

Spring 2019

January 11: Move-in date at the Congressional.

April 27: Move-out date at the Congressional.

Fall 2019

August 30: Move-in date at the Congressional.

December 14: Move-out date at the Congressional.

Spring 2020
