Think About It
On behalf of Butler University, I am pleased to introduce you to one of your first learning experiences as a new Bulldog—THINK ABOUT IT.
At Butler, we support a Community of C.A.R.E. This means we take personal responsibility, encourage others to do the right thing, and look out for each other. As you complete the THINK ABOUT IT course, please keep this in mind.
Completing this program is an expectation for every new member of our community, and is an important step on your journey as a successful Butler student.
We hope the THINK ABOUT IT program helps you to consider critical issues impacting you as a student, and equips you with information and skills you need to make healthy decisions.
Best wishes as you begin your career at Butler. I look forward to meeting you in the fall!
Frank E. Ross III, PhD
Vice President for Student Affairs
Think About It is an online program that invites all new Bulldogs to join Butler's ongoing conversations on consent, healthy relationships, sexual violence prevention and response, stalking and substance use. While the topics are heavy, the course is engaging and the feedback from current students on the experience of going through it has been positive! By taking Think About It, students will have the opportunity to solve real life problems and learn about Butler's policies and resources. Taking this course ensures that every new Bulldog has some baseline knowledge on these critical topics upon joining our community.
The Think About It course for undergraduate students takes about 2.5 hours to complete. The Think About It course for graduate students takes about 45 minutes to complete. You can work at your own pace from any computer (requires Adobe Flash). You can leave and return to the course at any time, and when you return, it will open to the page where you left off.
All incoming students at Butler University are expected to complete the Think About It course.
For the Spring 2018 semester, all new incoming students should receive an email, containing a unique login link, requesting their completion of the Think About It course on January 5. All new students are expected to complete the Think About It course by January 22.

Insight questions give you the chance to share information about yourself and your opinions. All responses are anonymous. This information helps us inform programming and outreach so we can best serve our students. Videos, animation, interviews, and the fictional stories of new students bring content to life. You can follow the stories of four first-year students as the navigate relationships and respond to social pressures.
Engage in activities to practice making safe choices, respond and intervene in concerning situations, and gain confidence for your first year of college.
