Geoff Hoops, PhD

Dr. Hoops earned a B.A. in chemistry at Grinnell College in Iowa, followed by a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry at the University of Michigan in 1995. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Purdue University before coming to Butler in 1999. He is a professor of chemistry and will be advising junior and senior students interested in the health professions including medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Dr. Hoops has walk-in advising for pre-health students on Tuesdays from 10:30 -11:30 AM and 2:30 - 4:30 PM and Fridays from 1:00-2:00 PM during the Spring 2018 semester.
Junior Pre-Health Professions Faculty Advisor

Philip Villani, PhD

Dr. Villani earned a B.S. in biology at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, followed by a PhD in botany at the University of California–Riverside in 1998. He is an associate professor of biology and will be advising first-year and sophomore students interested in the health professions including medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, and occupational therapy as well as serving as an advisor to the students who have declared biology as their major.
Dr. Villani has walk-in advising for pre-health students on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:00 AM-noon and Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 AM during the Spring 2018 semester.
