PA Program Experiential Education Administrative Specialist Working with the Butler PA Program Since 2016

What are your responsibilities in the PA Program?

As the Administrative Specialist for Experiential Education in the PA Program, I coordinate preceptor and site files for all student rotations. I ensure we have the correct documents and information in E*Value [a web-based evaluation system], maintain the budget for the experiential side of the PA Program, and assist with the maintenance of affiliation agreements between rotation sites and Butler University. It is my responsibility to communicate with medical sites to ensure their satisfaction with documentation received. I also schedule, proctor, and grade End of Rotation and PACKRAT Exams.

What do you like most about your role?

I enjoy meeting the students and watching how they apply their education during their clinical rotations. It is a privilege to work here at Butler, as I believe in the mission of the University and carrying it out.

What is your previous work experience?

When my children were younger, I had the opportunity to stay home with them. Then in 1999, I began working at Butler University. I served as an Administrative Assistant in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences for 11 years. From 2011–2012, I joined the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences as a Program Coordinator in Healthy Horizons. After time away to assist with family needs, I was excited to return to campus in 2016. I love being back on campus as Butler is truly a part of our family.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

Photography has become a hobby of mine. I love to capture still, family, and nature photos. As a native of Michigan, I absolutely love water sports, whether it is boating, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, or swimming. My husband and I really enjoy spending time with our two daughters, who are both Butler alumna, and our grandchildren. We are thrilled that we will be able to spoil one more grandchild any day now!
