He completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Dayton. Kevin then earned his master\u2019s degree in PA studies from Butler University, as well as his Doctor of Medical Science. Professionally, Kevin practiced in primary care, pulmonary, and urgent care medicine as the Senior Clinical Director at Pike Medical Consultants. Although he is a full-time faculty, Kevin continues to practice Pulmonology\/Primary Care medicine one day per week and intermittent urgent care coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin is also a co-founder of the Near West Free Clinic, helping to provide care for the underserved community of Indianapolis. He maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants. He earned his Master&#8217;s in PA Studies from Touro College and his Doctor of Medical Science degree from Shenandoah University, following initial training through Stanford School of Medicine&#8217;s Primary Care Associate Program.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chastain&#8217;s clinical experience includes a decade as a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in neonatal care, followed by PA work in Level IV neonatal intensive care units at Peyton Manning Children&#8217;s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent, Riley Children&#8217;s Hospital, and Lucile Packard Children&#8217;s Hospital. He previously served as Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine before joining Butler University in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>He maintains fellow memberships with the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants, the Physician Assistant Education Association, and the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics. She earned Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degrees from Butler University. She began her PA career in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery in Indianapolis, Indiana\u2014caring for patients in the office, hospital, and operating room settings. In her clinical role, she precepted PA students in their clinical rotations. She volunteers with the PA Foundation through the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics from Franklin College in 2012 and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies here at Butler University in 2015. As a licensed PA in Indiana, she has practiced exclusively in gastroenterology and hepatology and continues to practice clinically in this subspecialty one day a week at Hendricks Regional Health. &nbsp;Outside the classroom she enjoys being the Girl Scout troop leader for her school-aged twin daughters, urban gardening, and attending Indiana Pacers games. A proud Indiana native, she has dedicated her career to advancing primary care and shaping the next generation of healthcare providers.<\/p>\n<p><br>\nJennifer&#8217;s academic journey reflects her commitment to excellence, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Xavier University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Natural Sciences, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Butler University in 2000, where she graduated Cum Laude with High Honors. She furthered her expertise by earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2014.<\/p>\n<p><br>\nSince 2000, Jennifer has maintained an active clinical practice in family medicine, continuing to see patients at Family Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. Her transition into academic leadership began in 2012 when she joined Butler University&#8217;s PA Program as full-time faculty. She serves as Director of Experiential Education and Associate Professor, where she plays a pivotal role in clinical training and curriculum development. In October 2025, Jennifer&#8217;s exceptional contributions to physician assistant education were recognized when she received the prestigious Clinical Education Award from the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA), which honors outstanding faculty who demonstrate exemplary student support, clinical site development, and preceptor training. Jennifer&#8217;s innovative approach to healthcare education extends beyond traditional boundaries through her leadership of the Transition to Clinical Practice Program. This groundbreaking initiative partners with healthcare organizations to enhance preparation for advanced practice providers entering primary care, addressing critical workforce development needs in healthcare. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Jennifer brings her real-world clinical experience into the classroom, teaching in didactic courses including Clinical Medicine and Clinical Integration. Her dual perspective as both practitioner and educator ensures students receive training that bridges theory and practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><br>\nOn a personal note, Jennifer married her high school sweetheart, Joe Guthrie, in 1999, and together they have raised two amazing children: Sydnee, 23, currently pursuing her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, and Clayton, 21, studying Cybersecurity at Indiana University Bloomington. He graduated from Xavier University with a biology degree before spending several years conducting neuroscience research at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he earned a MA in psychology.&nbsp;He completed his PA training at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, and completed a Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMS) at Butler University in 2021. He has practiced in the areas of dermatology and infectious disease, and now sees patients in an urgent care clinic in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Roman enjoys instructing students in clinical medicine and evidence-based medicine, as well as precepting them in the urgent care clinic where he sees patients. He has authored several journal articles in both medicine and basic sciences, and has delivered presentations at state, regional, and national conferences. She is a tenured professor and Distinguished Fellow Member of the AAPA.&nbsp;She graduated from the Butler University physician assistant program in 1997 and earned a PhD in Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University in 2014.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Snyder has served within the Butler University PA program as the Academic Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator,&nbsp;Program Director, and Chair of the Department. She was the founding Chair and Program Director of the Doctor of Medical Science Program in the Department of Medical Sciences. In 2020, she assumed the position of Associate Dean Academic and Administrative Services of COPHS. While at Butler University, she has served as a University Faculty Senator and on the College and University Professional Standards Committees.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Snyder has been active in the national professional organizations of the PA profession. She currently serves as a Board of Trustee for the PA Foundation, the philantrhopic arm of the American Academy of PAs (AAPA). Dr. Snyder serves as the chair of the Research and Strategic Initiatives Commission of the AAPA and also the co-chair of the Doctoral Education Commission of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). She serves as a volunteer site visitor for the Higher Learning Commission.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Snyder has served as Director at Large and President&nbsp;of the Board of Directors of the PAEA. She has served as a volunteer site visitor for the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant. She has served on several Reference Committees and the Standing Rules Committee within the House of Delegates,&nbsp;AAPA.&nbsp;In addition, she has chaired or served on numerous other committees and workgroups in both the PAEA and AAPA.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Snyder remains active as a member with her state physician assistant organization. Mr. Sturm continues to practice part-time in an urgent care setting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He joined Butler University 2011 as an Assistant Professor for the Physician Assistant Program within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. &nbsp;Mr. Sturm has taught the following courses: Introduction to Imaging Studies, Clinical Medicine, Social and Behavioral Medicine, Clinical Integration, &nbsp;12 Lead ECG interpretation, Clinical Procedures and provided lab instruction for History and Physical Assessment and &nbsp;Clinical Procedures labs . &nbsp;He tries to create an open and active learning environment that fosters the development of clinical reasoning using a common sense approach. &nbsp;He enjoys working with the students in small groups in the lab where he can get to know them on a more personal level. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Mr. Sturm is a strong advocate of the PA profession and regularly serves as an elected Indiana Delegate in the American Academy of &nbsp;Physician Associates. &nbsp;&nbsp;He served as the CME chair for the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants for five years. &nbsp;In this role, he was instrumental in organizing and promoting &nbsp;Indiana&#8217;s first Student Medical Challenge Bowl for PA students.&nbsp; &nbsp;Mr. Sturm has a passion for point-of-care ultrasound and strives to incorporate this emerging technology in each of his courses.
