Students will have ample opportunities to practice their skills as a student nurse through real world learning opportunities with clinical hours, simulation experiences, electives, a preceptorship, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning with the first year, students will benefit from clinical experiences featuring an 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio. While the locations of the clinical experiences will vary, all clinicals will be within a one hour drive from campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting clinical experiences this early in an academic career allows a student to be eligible for employment in a hospital or clinical setting, beginning with the summer after their first year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of the program, students will have completed 495 total clinical hours in areas including adult medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, mental health, community health, and health assessment, plus their 1:1 preceptorship.
