January Orientation has been designed so that you will get all the key information you need before starting classes. Rest assured that you will have the opportunity to finish last-minute tasks, as well as meet other students.
Please note: Butler University offices will be closed for winter break beginning Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Offices will reopen on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Spring New Student Orientation Canvas Course
On January 4th, 2021, you will be invited (via email) to a Canvas Course called “Spring New Student Orientation.” All new students must complete a series of online Orientation modules. These modules include academic resources; campus life resources; diversity, equity, and inclusion training modules; AlcoholEdu; and information about COVID-19 safety procedures on campus.
Students will receive an additional separate email invitation on January 4, 2021 to complete the “U Got This!” course, as part of our comprehensive approach to sexual and relationship misconduct response and prevention.
This Canvas Course is asynchronous and students can complete it at their own pace. It is approximately 6-8 hours’ worth of content so please pace yourself to complete it by the deadline.
The deadline to complete all of the modules is January 24, 2021.

Move-in and Check-In information
The process to move-in and check-in to campus residences will be communicated to you via the university the week of January 4, 2021 via your Butler email.

Please allow two weeks’ advance notice prior to Butler's winter break (December 23, 2020–January 11, 2021) in order to provide adequate time for arrangements to be made. Although attempts will be made to honor accommodation requests submitted with fewer than two weeks’ notice, it cannot be guaranteed that a reasonable accommodation can be provided.
The University does not have medical equipment available, such as wheelchairs, though rental information can be provided upon request.

Special rates are available at the following hotels (subject to availability) during our fiscal year (June 2020-May 2021). Most hotels require that reservations be made two weeks in advance. When you call to make reservations, please identify yourself as a member of the Butler family and ask for the Butler rate.
