Visit the School of Music
Interested in a music major or participating in the music program at Butler as a non-major? In addition to your official campus visit with the Office of Admissions, we invite you to explore the School of Music in the Jordan College of the Arts (JCA). To set up your visit to the School of Music, please contact Courtney Trachsel in the School of Music office at email@example.com OR 317-940-9065. Potential music visit opportunities are below:
High school juniors and seniors may request a complimentary private lesson with a faculty member. Lessons are typically between 30-45 minutes and are great opportunities to receive pre-audition feedback and get to know our music faculty.
Student Shadow Day
High school seniors can experience life as a music student by shadowing a current Butler music major. Shadow days may include attending classes, rehearsals, and lunch in a campus dining hall with a shadow host. We can also arrange for shadow days to include a sample lesson and/or JCA music tour.
JCA Music Tour
Tour the music facilities in the Jordan College of the Arts (JCA) and meet with School of Music staff to discuss your goals and questions. JCA music tours may also be paired with sample lessons, student shadow days, full campus tours, etc.
Music Specialty Day
Music Specialty Days are free events for students of all playing levels to meet and work with Butler faculty and current students in their instrument area. Activities include master classes, faculty/student showcases, rehearsals, performances, Q&A sessions, and more! Read more about Music Specialty Days.
