Brass Day at Butler University

Butler University Brass Day will take place Monday, January 21, 2019 (Martin Luther King Day) in the Schrott Center for the Arts. The event is open to high school and middle school students of all playing levels. The third annual Brass Day will feature the Butler University brass faculty: Allen Miller (trumpet), Gail Lewis (French horn), Jared Rodin (trombone), Michael Colburn (euphonium), and our newest brass faculty member Tony Kniffen (tuba), principal tuba at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra!

Schedule (subject to change)

All activities will take place in the Schrott Center for the Arts unless otherwise noted.

9:00 AM Registration
10:00 AM Opening recital featuring Tony Kniffen and Butler faculty
11:00 AM Master Class with Tony Kniffen
12:00 PM Lunch in Atherton Union
1:00 PM Master Classes with Butler faculty (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba)
2:00 PM Brass Ensemble rehearsal
3:00 PM Q&A with Butler students and faculty
3:30 PM Closing concert (Brass Ensemble performance)
