The need for outstanding and experienced graduates in the Risk Management and Insurance field is apparent. Building an incredible experiential opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience will set the industry and our students up for success. The Lacy School of Business established&nbsp;a student-run insurance company with coverages starting in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hands-on experience in the Captive Insurance Company means taking on real risks and real underwriting, while also gaining insight into starting and running a business. From creating and updating insurance financial reports to underwriting fine arts, our first phase of coverage offerings will provide an extensive baseline from which students can learn. Phases two and three will further our capabilities by expanding the business to lines of insurance that could develop into real life consumer products. This will include the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Underwrite real loss exposures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement loss control techniques<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyze losses and adjust claims<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create annual reports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create financial ratio reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students graduating from the Davey Risk Management &amp; Insurance program will have one of the most advanced educations in the insurance industry and the corresponding experience needed to hit the ground running in advanced \/ FastTrack positions and our business partners will have intimate access to this talent pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mj-insurance\">MJ Insurance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>MJ Insurance exists to inspire the success, fulfillment and wellbeing of each person it serves:&nbsp;associates and their families, business partners, clients and the community.&nbsp;Founded in 1964, MJ Insurance celebrated its 50th&nbsp;anniversary in 2014 and continues to expand through growth, service and leadership. MJ Insurance and its Chairman, Michael M. Bill, saw incredible value and potential in funding the Captive Insurance Company.
