Computer Lab Standards and Reservations

Standard Software

All Windows computer labs have the following software applications installed:

Additional applications may be available in specific labs. Consult with your professor regarding availability and location if specialized software is required for classwork.

Standard Hardware

Some PC computers and some Macs have CD-RW drives for burning CDs. All computers have USB ports (typically on the front or side) for USB drives.

Network Access

All computers require a Butler username and password for login. Once logged in, your BUfiles will be connected as drive H:\ (Windows) or on your desktop (Mac).

On Windows computers, drive G:\ is connected to the "Courses" directory, where some faculty store course-related material for your use.

Reserve Computer Labs

Computer labs are reserved through Registration and Records in JH133. You may submit requests via email to R& or call 940-9204.

View Schedules Online

Computer Lab and Classroom schedules may be viewed online through

  • Log into My.Butler with your Butler username and password 
  • Click on the My.Butler Calendar and Event Scheduling link
  • If you already know which room you are interested in booking, this calendar will allow you to check its availability before contacting Registration and Records 
  • Reservation requests for rooms other than computer labs also may be submitted through Conferences and Special Events via
