Computer Hardware Repair

IT recommends that students visit the IT Help Desk for advice before contacting a repair provider. The IT Help Desk is able to assist with troubleshooting, diagnostics, computer rebuilds, and data backups. When it is deemed that a hardware repair is needed, IT recommends the following:

  • Windows computers, under warranty: contact the manufacturer for hardware repair options
  • Windows computers, out-of-warranty: contact a local repair provider of your choosing (such as Fry's, Best Buy, or another repair shop)
  • Apple computers, under warranty or out-of-warranty: contact the Mac Experience or the Apple store

Students are able to borrow loaner laptops through the Irwin or Science Library on a first-come first-serve basis.
