Student Employee Appreciation Week 2018
Every year, Butler recognizes the importance of our student employees and the contributions they make to our University. This week draws the awareness of others, inside and outside of the University, to the major achievements student workers have made in the multitude of roles they fill. This year's Student Employee Appreciation Week is April 9–13, 2018 and you can see a breakdown of the week-long activities and single day activities below!

Department Photo Contest
Location: Post Here (No social media required!)

Time to show off your creative side with our annual Department Photo Contest! Submit a photo of your department to our photo contest link below by Wednesday, April 11, to be entered. Encourage your department to vote for your picture to win a Donut Party for your office!
Door/Bulletin Decorating Contest
Location: Department Offices
Time: All week
Time to get competitive! ICS will start the door decorating contest by decorating our own office doors to show our spirit for Student Employee Appreciation Week, from there, all departments are encouraged to participate and post their doors to the following link below. Decorating your door shows your office's support for Butlr student employees and their amazing contributions to the University. So be creative! On Monday, April 16, the department whose picture has the most votes will be selected as a winner for the door decorating contest and receive an end-of-year pizza party for their office, courtesy of ICS!

Monday April 9, 2018:
Donut Stand and Appreciation Station
Location: Starbucks Tables
This year, the Office of Internship and Career Services is kicking off Student Employee Appreciation Week with a complimentary Donut Stand and Appreciation Station!
Well now is your chance! The Office of Internship and Career Services will be hosting an "Appreciation Station" with a variety of materials to craft posters, write Thank-You cards, and create your own personal tokens of appreciation! Feel free to come by as you please and get some free donuts too!
Tuesday April 10, 2018:
"Meet the Grads!" event
Location: Atherton Union, Reilly Room
As part of Internship & Career Services’ annual Student Employee Appreciation Week, the ICS office will be hosting an alumni panel entitled “Meet the Grads.” This will be an opportunity for current Butler students to hear from Butler graduates about how student employment and internships have benefited alumni in their job search process and beyond. They will also elaboratre how students can best articulate their skills in interviews and across jobs in different fields.
Guest alumni will participate on a panel for approximately an hour with questions from a moderator and an open Q&A from current students. This event is open to all students, come join us for free dinner, open resume critiques from your ICS Peer Ambassadors, and an evening of hearing from your fellow Butler alumni! Student Employee Appreciation Luncheon
Location: Atherton Union
This year’s Student Employee Appreciation Luncheon will be from 12:00 - 1:30pm. This event is open to all student award nominees and their supervisors. This event is aimed at celebrating this particular group of students for their amazing contributions to our University and as a "Thank you" from their supervisors as well as the ICS office. This event is invitation only.
Thursday April 12, 2018:
3rd Annual Student versus Staff/Faculty Dodgeball Tournament
Location: Butler University Health and Recreation Complex
This year ICS and the Health and Recreation Complex will be hosting the 3rd annual Student vs Staff/Faculty Dodegball Tournament! Come watch fellow students and staff members go head to head on the court with matches starting from 3:00-4:30pm in the HRC basketball courts. Teams of 6 may register. You do not need a team to join, individuals will be grouped together to form teams. All staff, faculty, and students are encouraged to participate!
Visit to the Indianapolis Newfields
Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Join the Internship and Career Services (ICS) team for an upcoming off site employer visit to Newfields, an internationally renowned museum known for combining art with nature. Newfields invites students to learn about Newfields history as an organization, learn about potential internship and career opportunities, hear from current staff and alumni, and tour the campus!

Departmental Student Employee Appreciation Day
Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. Today is the day to show appreciation for your individual department’s student employees! This could be something as grandiose as an office pizza party or something as simple as a Thank You card. Movie on the Mall: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Butler University FILMs Committee will be bringing the first Movie on the Mall for the 2017 - 2018 with free snacks, prizes, and food. This week's movie will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi!
