Recruiting Opportunities

Successful recruitment comes as a result of building relationships with the Butler campus community. Employers who experience the greatest level of success in their recruiting efforts partner with Internship & Career Services in a number of ways.  Below are some of our programs and services to assist employers in making the connection with Butler students and alumni.

Recruiter Information Breakfast

Recruiter Information Breakfasts are employer-only, informational events with the purpose of providing more details about Butler's campus structure, various services and programming ICS offers employers, and an opportunity to hear from a panel of students. The events are typically held at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters (August and January). Invitations are sent to contacts in our Handshake database. Contact Julie Schrader at jschrade@butler.edu for more information.

Next Event: Wednesday, August 1st, 2018, 8:30-10:00 a.m. Registration form:  https://butler.formstack.com/forms/recruiterinfobreakfast

Host Interviews, or Information Tables & Sessions

The Internship & Career Services office offers you the opportunity to schedule interview days for your fulltime and internship opportunities. Generally, the interviewing season runs from late September to early December in the Fall semester and late January to late April in the Spring semester.

In planning your visits, you will want to be mindful of finals and campus breaks including Fall Break (mid-October), Thanksgiving Break (the whole week of Thanksgiving), Winter Holiday Break, Martin Luther King Day and Spring Break. The Internship & Career Services staff will assist you in finding the best time for your visit.

To request an interview day contact Internship & Career Services at 317-940-9383. You will need to have the following information ready to complete the reservation process:

  • Name of Recruiter(s)
  • Contact information
  • Job Title
  • Job Description
  • Desired date of interviews (Have a couple of backups in mind as space is limited.)
  • Number of schedules
  • Type of schedule - open or preselect (We encourage you to have an open schedule to maximize your candidate pool.)
  • Length of interview - 30, 45, or 60 minutes
  • Start and end times

On-Campus Interviews:

Host on-campus interviews with Butler students! Post your position to Handshake and review your top applicants. Two weeks notice is strongly preferred.

Information Tables and Information Sessions:

Information tables are usually scheduled during the lunch hour at our student union. Tables are perfect if you’re looking to build brand recognition or hire for part-time positions. Information sessions can be a great way to connect with students if you have an established internship program, and want to share application tips & tricks. We are also more than willing to help you create a tailored campus experience to meet your needs.

Events & Programs

ICS offers a variety of career-related events and programs. Visit the Events & Programs section for details on upcoming events.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship increases brand recognition and awareness on campus! ICS and Butler University offer a variety of event and programming sponsorship opportunities to help showcase your organization to Butler students. If you are interested in sponsoring an event, please reach out directly to our office to discuss these options. We can also work with you to create a personalized sponsorship plan that supports your brand and campus goals.
