An HSA allows you to put money away and use the funds for qualified medical expenses, like deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and more. You\u2019re eligible to contribute to an HSA when you\u2019re covered by Butler\u2019s\u00a0HDHP\u00a0medical plan. Additionally, Butler will make a lump sum\u00a0contribution to your HSA account. This money is available to pay for eligible expenses, such as medical deductibles and copayments, prescriptions, dental expenses, eyeglasses, contact lenses and other health-related expenses that are not reimbursed by your health plan.\u00a0<br\/><strong>HOW DOES IT WORK?<\/strong>\u00a0You decide how much to contribute to your Health FSA on a plan year basis, up to the maximum allowable amount. Your annual election will be divided by the number of pay periods and deducted evenly on a pre-tax basis from each paycheck throughout the plan year. You must enroll in the FSA each year. Elections do not carry over year-over-year.\u00a0<br\/><strong>CLAIM FILING AND REIMBURSEMENT<\/strong>\u00a0Your FSA administrator is WEX. To be reimbursed for your FSA expense, you must have an itemized receipt. To submit claims for reimbursement, simply complete a claim form, include a bill or itemized receipt from the provider, and submit this information for reimbursement.<br\/><strong>THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU CONTRIBUTE TO AN FSA<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li class=\"s6\">Be sure to fund the account wisely as Health FSAs are subject to a \u201cuse it or lose it\u201d rule; however, you may roll-over up to $640\u00a0year-over-year. If you are married and file separate returns, you can each elect $2,500 for the plan year.
