Lecturer and Foundational Course Director in the Pulliam School of Journalism and Creative Media Journalism
The Eugene S. Pulliam School of Journalism and Creative Media in the College of Communication at Butler University invites applications for a nine-month Lecturer in the Critical Communication and Media Studies (CCM) major with an expected start date of August 2024. The position is a three-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will also serve as the College of Communication Foundational Course Director who will oversee college required courses including a public speaking course COM 101 (Rhetoric and the American Democratic Tradition), COM 215 (Speech for Business, which is required of all majors in the Lacy School of Business), and SW 266 (Media Literacy). The successful candidate will teach these courses and classes in the CCM major including courses in their area of expertise from an inclusive pedagogical perspective. The typical teaching load at Butler University is 12 credit hours a semester, and this position will come with three credits of release each semester for serving in the role of Foundational Course Director.
