Experiential Program for Preparing School Principals (EPPSP)
Program Type: On campus
The 36-credit hour Experiential Program for Preparing School Principals (EPPSP) is an innovative and experience-based master's program that prepares graduates to be successful school administrators. The experiential design of EPPSP incorporates each aspect of the principalship training model into a six-semester experience, allowing school leaders to work together intensely in a cohort group environment.

 

Master of Science in School Counseling
Program Type: On campus
The 48-credit hour School Counseling program trains educators to counsel K-12 students for social and emotional needs as well as guide students in academic choices leading to college and career readiness. Graduates leave the program with a mental health perspective and prepared to serve as team members empowered to accomplish meaningful systems change.

Applied Educational Neuroscience Certificate
Program Type: Hybrid (online and on-campus)
The 9-credit hour Applied Educational Neuroscience Certificate is specifically designed to meet the needs of educators, social workers, and counselors who work beside children and adolescents that are experiencing adversity and trauma. The certificate is intended to provide students with an opportunity to become acquainted with the theoretical and empirical literature of educational neuroscience, trauma and the brain, and brain development as it relates to behaviors, relationships, and academic acquisition.

 

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Certificate
Program Type: Online
The 12-credit hour Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Certificate is specifically designed to meet the needs of school counseling graduates who currently hold a 48-credit-hour master's degree. The program is taught by experienced mental health professionals with asynchronous instruction and targeted personal engagement.

Master of Arts in Creative Writing
Program Type: On campus
The 36-credit hour Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing offers students a customized curriculum based on their unique artistic and professional interests in fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. Students have opportunities to edit content for our literary magazine, have coffee with guests of the Visiting Writers Series, and work with top-flight, full-time faculty.

 

Master of Arts in English
Program Type: On campus
The 30-credit hour plus thesis, or 36-credit hour without thesis, Master of Arts in English program focuses on individual studies in English and American as well as European and World Literatures. The highly flexible and interactive learning environment accommodates a wide array of academic interests and career goals. Additional topics of study include: Minority Literatures; Gender Studies; Colonial and Post-colonial literatures; Literary Theory; and Post-Modernism.

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

Bridge Program
Program Type: Online
The 14-credit hour Bridge Program incorporates 36-credit hours already completed during supervised clinical practice experiences from your entry-level master’s degree program and combines them with four, 700-level Bridge courses, plus a semester-long Capstone, to achieve a Doctor of Medical Science degree. This program is only for PA’s who have graduated within the past 6 months from an ARCPA accredited, entry-level program.

 

Doctor of Medical Science
Program Type: Online
The 50-credit hour Doctor of Medical Science program serves PAs who are interested in gaining more in-depth medical knowledge within primary care, as well as those interested in learning the business acumen to advance to leadership positions within their workplace.

 

Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
Program Type: On campus
The 24-month Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program produces graduates who can deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a wide variety of primary care clinical settings. Butler’s PA program boosts a 100 percent job placement rate within six months of graduation, making it one of the premier programs in the country.

The 12-credit hour Healthcare Practice and Administration Certificate provides students with a targeted approach to expanding their foundational medical knowledge and business skills without undertaking an entire degree.

 

Physician Assistant (PA) Educator Certificate

The 12-credit hour PA Educator Certificate is tailored to those individuals who would like to enhance their understanding of teaching and medical education for PAs.

Division of Professional Studies

Master of Science in Data Analytics
Program Type: Online
The 31-32 credit hour program focuses on contextualizing data analytics in different areas of expertise—business analytics, healthcare analytics, and bioinformatics. Through hands-on learning and real-world applications, students will employ the key technologies in data analytics including data mining, machine learning, visualization, and predictive modeling. 

Jordan College of the Arts

Master of Arts in Music in Composition
Program Type: On campus
The 30-credit hour Master of Music in Composition is a writing intensive degree, with numerous opportunities to write, perform, teach, and collaborate. Students exit the program with a professional body of work that reflects their newly expanded musical vocabulary and high level of craftsmanship. Students can expect to complete the program in two years.

 

Master of Arts in Music: Conducting (Instrumental or Choral)
Program Type: On campus
The 30-credit hour Master of Arts in Music in Conducting is designed for students interested in expanding their knowledge, skill, and effectiveness in conducting either instrumental or choral ensembles. The program blends the practical experience of coached conducting experiences with individual lessons in score, study, gesture, rehearsal techniques, and repertoire knowledge.

 

Master of Arts in Music: Music Education
Program Type: Hybrid (Online + On Campus)
The 31-credit hour, or 34-credit hour with thesis, Master of Arts in Music Education is designed for music educators currently teaching in a K-12 setting. Over the course of three years, students will participate in a two-week, on-campus residency and use their own classroom as a laboratory for advancing teaching and applying best practices.

 

Master of Arts in Music: Performance
Program Type: On campus
The 30-credit hour Master of Music in Performance program is designed for students looking to expand their professional opportunities as performers and private teachers. The degree includes ample opportunities for participation in Butler University’s ensembles and many students teach through the Butler Community Arts School and perform as solo or ensemble musicians.

 

Master of Arts in Music: Piano Pedagogy
Program Type: On campus
The 30-credit hour Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy is nationally recognized for its innovative curriculum. The program challenges students to pursue leadership in the teaching profession. Graduates from the Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy are thriving studio wonders, owners of academies and multi-teacher organizations, successful doctoral degree candidates, and adjunct/full-time faculty.

 

Master of Arts in Musicology
Program Type: On campus
The 30-credit hour Master of Arts in Musicology degree program is designed to prepare students for doctoral studies in musicology or related fields. Students pursuing the MA in Musicology can do so in combination with other Master of Arts in Music degrees at Butler. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to take part in ensembles and applied lessons alongside their coursework and are expected to complete a substantial thesis under the supervision of music history faculty. 

Lacy School of Business

Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Program Type: On campus and online
The 38-credit hour Master of Business Administration combines both theory and practice in a self-paced, student-focused environment. Students in our program benefit from numerous opportunities to apply classroom lessons to real life situations, as well as through assigned leadership coaches who guide students in achieving personal and professional goals.

 

Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc)
Program Type: On campus
The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) program offers two tracks: the accelerated four-year/dual-degree option and the traditional, fifth-year degree option. Both tracks result in a Bachelor of Science in Business (for Butler students) and a Master of Professional Accounting degree, providing you with 150 credit hours required for CPA certification.

 

Master of Science in Risk and Insurance (MSRI)
Program Type: Online
The 30-credit hour Master of Science in Risk and Insurance (MSRI) program is designed for students who are interested in advanced roles in corporate risk management, individuals seeking a career change into the growing insurance field, or early phase professionals already working for insurance firms. Our cohort-based program blends both traditional risk and insurance courses with foundational business courses to prepare graduates to succeed, and advance quickly, in the expanding risk and insurance industry.

 

Master of Arts in Management (MiM)
Program Type: Online (full and part-time options)
The 33-credit hour is designed for non-business undergraduates to learn the functional areas of business and enhance your career options. In addition to general business courses, students benefit from a 300-hour required internship, a dedicated career mentor, and a final Capstone experience.
