Founder's Day Faculty Grants

The Founder's Day Committee is pleased to announce five grants of $1,000 for faculty to develop and enhance existing course projects, assignments or independent studies with students during the fall 2019 semester. The enhancement should incorporate some or all of the following themes of Founder’s Day: diversity, inclusivity, equality and/or BU:Be You. Objectives and progress of the student work produced as a result of these grants will be presented or displayed (via digital media, poster, artwork, performance, etc.) to the Butler community during Founder’s Week 2020.

The Founder’s Day Committee will convene in March to select five proposals to be awarded $1,000 each. Winners will be notified prior to Butler’s Spring Commencement. Faculty will receive the grant in the form of a stipend. They may choose how they want to utilize the funds towards developing a course assignment or independent study project, materials, and presentation for Founder’s Week. Winners will receive their stipends in their September paychecks for use to enhance their fall class assignments and/or projects. Please use the Proposal Guidelines Form to submit your proposal.

The proposal deadline for the 2019 Founder's Day Faculty Grant is March 8.
