South Campus Open House, featuring the College of Education
Main Building, South Campus

Butler University’s College of Education invites you to celebrate its new home! Stop by to enjoy a self-guided tour of Butler’s south campus. Maps are available both at South Campus and at Family Weekend registration. Members of the College of Education faculty and staff will be wearing blue and available along the route to visit with families and answer questions.

Your BLUEprint for Success: Building Careers a Semester at a Time

All business students participate in the 4-year, structured Career Development program with two internships and a career mentor.  Learn more about the program, including our student successes and our partnerships with the business community.  Hear from the Director of Career Development and meet current students, staff, and career mentors. Please join us and share your ideas and feedback. Beverages and light snacks will be served. Registration is requested through the Family Weekend online registration form.

It’s Butler’s largest field of study! Join us as students present their exciting undergraduate research projects. Meet and talk with faculty. Tour current labs and learning spaces – and hear about the exciting transformation of Butler’s teaching and research spaces into a state-of-the-art science center.

Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children and students under 18. Butler students are free with ID. No reservations required. Doors open at 7:00 PM with Planetarium Show at 7:30 PM and Telescope Viewing (weather permitting) at 8:30 PM.

Four time Grammy award winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, New York Times best-selling author, amazing guitarist and captivating performer is the best way to describe Don Felder.  Renowned as a former lead guitarist of The Eagles, Felder was part of one of the most popular and influential rock groups of our time. Tailgating at Hinkle Fieldhouse
Hinkle Fieldhouse Parking Lot

Be part of the traditional tailgating atmosphere by setting up your own tailgate in the Hinkle lot. Single car parking passes will be available through Family Weekend registration for $20. Limited availability. First come, first served. Vehicles will need to be moved from the Hinkle lot at the conclusion of the game in preparation for the men’s basketball game that evening. Please note the complete tailgating policy listed on the Butler Athletics website.

High Ropes Course (Weather Permitting)
Take the Holcomb Gardens foot bridge over the canal. Continue straight until you see a gravel road on your right. You’ve reached the High Challenge Course check in area!

Family members ages 12 and up can participate in a unique, challenging experience 38 feet above the ground! The High Challenge Course is designed to enhance self-confidence, self-trust, and personal growth. This event will give you two hours to get a taste of the High Challenge Course as you run, jump, swing, and play in the trees! Families can arrive at any time between 8:00 AM-noon, but space is limited and first-come, first-served. Due to the popularity of this event, it is recommended that you arrive as early as possible. Please wear harness-friendly clothing and fully-enclosed shoes. For questions or more information, contact Erinn McCluney or call 800-368-6852 ext. 4472. Parents/guardians must sign a special waiver on-site for those participants under 18 years of age.

A limited number of spots will be available at 9:00 AM and 9:50 AM to see the progress on the new Lacy School of Business building, slated to open summer 2019. All participants must be at least 18 years of age and wearing closed toed shoes. (Limit 4 people per registration)

Lil' Sibs Build-a-Bulldog!

Butler students and their younger siblings are invited for two hours of fun! During this time, each child will get a chance to create their own stuffable bulldog and enjoy cookies and coloring with their new friend! Each younger sibling will create a bulldog, and Butler students will assist them. Refreshments will be provided. Cost is $15 per sibling and space is limited.

Families are invited to join the Volunteer Center for an on-campus service project to benefit the Indianapolis community. Drop-in at your convenience during this timeframe for an easy blanket-making project to benefit a local charity.

Experience Butler basketball at historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. Tickets are available through Family Weekend registration. (Note: Butler students who gain entrance to the game via student tickets will be seated in the student section. Family members wanting their Butler student seated with them in the stands will need to purchase a game ticket for their student.)

**Please note that fans that may require ADA seating for basketball must contact the ticket office directly at 317-940-3647 instead of ordering through the Family Weekend registration site.

Panhellenic Association Sorority Open Houses

Women interested in Greek Recruitment are invited to visit with each sorority and learn more about Greek Life at Butler. Sigma Gamma Rho will be available in the University Club of Atherton Union, Room 111, with the remaining organizations hosting families in their housing units along Hampton Drive. Parents are encouraged to attend. This is an open house where families can come and go as they please. Each organization will have members available to provide information and answer any questions that families may have.
