Sustainability and Facilities

Facilities strives to make sustainability a priority across campus from the inception of new projects to the improvement of current practices. Facilities demonstrates its commitment to sustainability by:

  • Ensuring new construction meets LEED Silver classification with the goal of LEED Gold or Platinum
  • Using Green Seal certified cleaning products campus wide
  • Managing the campus recycling program
  • Utilizing high efficiency lighting, such as LEDs
  • Composting landscape waste
  • Specifying low flow water fixtures, high efficiency HVAC systems, daylight harvesting, and occupancy sensors in all projects
  • Continually exploring ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
