Recent Strategic Initiatives
S.H.A.R.E. (Student Housing Annual Restoration Effort)
S.H.A.R.E., Facilities' key strategic initiative for 2013 calendar year, was developed to improve the cleaning and maintenance of residential buildings during the summer. Challenges of these tasks are working around summer school schedules, conferences, and other events, including the turnover of 133 rooms during commencement weekend in less than 36 hours.
- Improve communication
- Eliminate silos within the division
- Reduce overtime
- Lower employee stress caused by overtime and high workload
Since the implementation of S.H.A.R.E., noticeable benefits include improved communication and improved relationships across many departments: Residence Life, Conferences & Special Events, Internship & Career Services, Academic Affairs, Information Technology. Increased support and operational awareness has also been displayed within the Facilities staff.
