Now, more than ever, we need mental health workers to support the millions of children, youth, and adults impacted by trauma, mental illness, substance abuse, and other threats to wellbeing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-larger-font-size\" id=\"h-the-lmhc-program-offers\">The LMHC program offers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>100% online format taught by experienced mental health professionals with asynchronous instruction and targeted personal engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost is $580\/credit hour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Federal financial aid is available\u2014for more information, email <a href=\"mailto:finaid@butler.edu\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finaid@butler.edu<\/a> or call&nbsp;317-940-8200<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The LMHC track is specifically designed to meet the needs of school counseling graduates who currently hold a 48 or more credit-hour <a href=\"https:\/\/educationonline.butler.edu\/programs\/masters-mental-health-counseling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">master&#8217;s degree<\/a>. The LMHC program builds on curriculum of the school counselor, but admission is not limited to school counselors. This course focuses on the application of community counseling theories and program development within the community and agency setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Topics and Experiences in Mental Health Counseling (ED 680)&nbsp; Spring only\u2014<\/strong>Explores topics and experiences relevant to the clinical practice of mental health counseling. Experiential opportunities include an optional brief shadowing experience (provided safe conditions exist) in a mental health setting, clinical documentation skills, professional staffing of cases, and crisis management.
