COVID-19 SDS Procedures for Students
We want to reassure you that SDS is here to assist as you make the transition into virtual classes this semester. To that end, we’ve compiled answers to questions we know many of you have regarding how your accommodations will work in this new environment.
While you will not be taking exams in the SDS testing center, you will still be eligible for your extended time. Please continue to submit exam requests through our online system as usual. This will allow us to send your professors specific reminders to program each of your online exams with the extended time.
If there are any unusual testing situations and you’re unsure how it will work with your accommodations (i.e. if your professor is using a platform other than Canvas), please reach out to us for assistance. We are here to help!
COPHS (Pharmacy and PA) Students
You will be receiving additional guidance around exam accommodations for ExamSoft exams in a separate email from us soon. Please keep an eye out for that message. All other exam requests must be submitted through the online system as usual.
Meetings with SDS Staff
If you have regularly scheduled meetings with Hanna or Kathleen, they will be reaching out to you to determine how to best move forward. They are happy to continue with regular meetings using Zoom, and will need to get those set up with you individually.
If you find yourself needing assistance regarding accommodations or other concerns, SDS staff members are still available to support you. You can email email@example.com and someone will get back with you as soon as possible. If needed, we can set up Zoom meetings for discussions in lieu of what would typically be an in-person meeting.
Other Accommodation Concerns
Because SDS student accommodations are all individually determined, there may be other issues that arise. Please don’t hesitate to call our office at 317-940-9308 or to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are here to support you.
Be safe and stay healthy. We are all looking forward to seeing you again soon!
