I am a native Chinese (Mandarin) speaker. I was born and grow up in Shandong Province, China, which is also the hometown of Confucius. I came to U.S. in 2002 and got my Master’s degree in translation studies at the University of Massachusetts and Ph.D. in comparative literature at the University of South Carolina.

I supervise the Chinese program. In addition to offering all-level Chinese courses, I also teach FL320 and GHS courses related to East Asian studies.

My areas of expertise include translation studies, comparative literature, and modern Chinese women’s writing.

I like reading, watching movies, walking in the park, and traveling. I am not a big fan of sports, but I follow Butler men’s and women’s basketball a lot.
