First-Time Passing Rate on NAPLEX

The NAPLEX, or North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination, measures a candidate’s knowledge of the practice of pharmacy. It is just one component of the licensure process and is used by the boards of pharmacy as part of their assessment of a candidate’s competence to practice as a pharmacist.

The 1st time pass rate below reflects results for those candidates who graduated and took the exam in the same year reported. 

In 2018, Butler was ranked FOURTH in the nation for 1st time pass rates out of 134 Pharmacy Schools.  Butler’s 1st time pass rate on NAPLEX for 2018 was 99.21%.  The national 1st time pass rate for 2018 was 89.46%.

Butler’s combined Phase I and Phase II American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) PGY1 match rate for 2018 graduates was 78%. The national ASHP PGY1 match rate for 2018 graduates was 65%.
