These students gain valuable foundational skills that help them to have a strong start to their graduate school training. Students provide supervised clinical services or therapy to people in our community via our on-campus Speech-Language clinic, our Community Preschool Screening Program, our Audiology Clinic, our Butler Early Language and Literacy Preschool Program (BELL), and our Butler Aphasia Community. For the younger members of our community, we take students out to area preschools to complete speech, language and hearing screenings\u2014typically seeing 200-300 children each semester. Students gain experience in screening procedures, detecting possible communication problems, and interacting with young children. Each fall, students also have an opportunity to provide hearing screenings to the participants of the Percussive Arts Society International Convention held in Indianapolis; students interact with over 200 drummers from around the world!
