Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Programs
Each Fall we offer a Spotlight on Undergraduate Research series to help orient those interested in undergraduate research to the various opportunities available at Butler University.
You could be one of 30 Butler students chosen to spend summer on campus to work with a faculty mentor on a research or creative project. Students selected for Butler Summer Institute (BSI) pick their own topics (past scholars have examined potential drugs that may help to cure Alzheimer's and cancer, immigration, choreography, and the Riot Grrls). BSI Scholars also receive a $2,500 stipend and free university housing during the program.
Competition for BSI is high; CHASE can guide you through the process.
Once you've conducted your research, be sure to share your findings at the annual Undergraduate Research Conference, or help to defray costs associated with presenting your work at professional conferences by applying for a CHASE Travel to Present grant.
