Career Communities

The Office of Internship and Career Services is taking a unique approach to helping students explore in more depth by forming industry based Career Communities. The goal with Career Communities is to create a group of alumni, employers, parents, and friends who are invested in your career success. Our first career community series focuses on the nonprofit industry, and we will be forming more communities soon.

What is a Career Community?

Career Communities are an exclusive opportunity for students, employers and alumni to connect through common passion and job interests, both online and in-person. With Career Communities, students can:

  • Discover and explore industry areas of interest
  • Engage with alumni, employer, and parent mentors to help guide you
  • Connect with internships and careers in areas of choice
  • Meet with other students with similar interests
  • Attend events targeted to an area that allows you to broaden and deepen your knowledge of that industry

Why Should I Be Involved in a Career Community?

  • Build your brand on campus and strengthen your talent pipeline through active engagement of interested students and alumni
  • Connect with students and alumni about common career interest areas
  • Share career information and build relationships on campus while keeping your brand name in the forefront of active students
  • Connect with students through meaningful dialogue that could potentially transcend their professional success

Alumni: Looking for a way to stay engaged with your alma mater?  Communities give you the opportunity to engage with students, employers and Butler faculty/staff about common career areas of interest.  If you aren't able to make it to campus regularly -  no problem.  Career Communities is a way for you to stay engaged online or in-person when it is convenient for you.
