View the instructions for making an electronic payment through E-Pay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>529 Plan Payments<\/strong>: E-Pay supports electronic payments from select 529 college savings plans. This option allows account owners and beneficiaries to make payments quickly and conveniently online. A <strong>$10 processing fee<\/strong> applies to each 529 plan payment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PayPal and Venmo<\/strong>: PayPal and Venmo are accepted as online payment methods through E-Pay, providing a convenient and secure way to pay tuition and fees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Credit Card Payments<\/strong>: Credit card payments must be submitted through E-Pay. Payments by credit card cannot be accepted by mail, phone, or in person.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Accepted Credit Cards<\/strong>: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express are accepted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Credit Card, PayPal and Venmo Service Fees<\/strong>: A <strong>2.95% non-refundable service fee<\/strong> applies to domestic credit card payments. International credit card payments are subject to a <strong>4.25% non-refundable service fee<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Minimum Service Fee<\/strong>: A minimum <strong>non-refundable fee of $3.00 <\/strong>applies to credit card payments between <strong>$20.01 and $105.99.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-paper-checks\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paper Checks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paper checks, including 529 plan payments, are accepted. Please include student\u2019s BU ID on the face of the check and mail to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Office of Student Accounts <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4600 Sunset Ave. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indianapolis, IN 46208<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-fall-and-spring-billing\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fall and Spring Billing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who register early for the fall semester will receive an E-Bill in mid-July. Payment is due by <strong>August 1<\/strong> unless enrolled in the Monthly Payment Plan. Students registered early for the spring semester will receive an E-Bill in mid-December, with payment due by <strong>January 2<\/strong> unless enrolled in the Monthly Payment Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Room and board charges will be included on the fall E-Bill for students who have completed their housing contract before billing is issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who register during regular or late registration must pay their balance by the due date shown on their E-Bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Failure to pay by the due date may result in class cancellation. Students with unpaid balances after the first day of the semester who are not enrolled in a Monthly Payment Plan will be charged a <strong>1.5% monthly finance charge (18% APR)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-monthly-payment-plan\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monthly Payment Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Butler University offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.butler.edu\/campus-services\/student-accounts\/billing-payment\/monthly-payment-plan\/\">Monthly Payment Plan<\/a> to help eligible students and families spread tuition payments over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enrollment for Fall opens in <strong>mid-July<\/strong> after fall E-Bills are available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spring Enrollment<\/strong>: Opens in <strong>mid-December<\/strong> after spring E-Bills are available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students and authorized payers can enroll through <strong>E-Bill &amp; E-Pay.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrollment is required <strong>each semester<\/strong> and does not automatically renew.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>$25 non-refundable enrollment fee<\/strong> applies each fall and spring semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Butler University will continue to offer a&nbsp;<strong>four\u2011month payment plan<\/strong>&nbsp;for the fall semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Monthly Payment Plan will&nbsp;<strong>not automatically renew<\/strong>&nbsp;from one year to the next.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Note<\/strong>:<strong>&nbsp;A payment plan is not available for the summer term.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-past-due-balances\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Past-Due Balances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students with past-due balances or a history of missed payments may have their classes canceled. All outstanding balances must be paid before registering for a future semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-summer-term\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer Term<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electronic billing statements (E-Bills) are&nbsp;published the second Wednesday of every month. The balance is&nbsp; due&nbsp;in full within the first five days of the month following the date the bill was published. Due dates are&nbsp;indicated&nbsp;on&nbsp;the E-Bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first E-Bill for the <strong>summer term <\/strong>is&nbsp;published the second Wednesday in&nbsp;May and due in full within the first&nbsp;five days of June.&nbsp;(The due date is&nbsp;indicated on the&nbsp;May E-Bill.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There is not a payment plan available for charges incurred during the summer term.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-prepaid-tuition-plan\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepaid Tuition Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University provides a tuition prepayment plan&nbsp;which guarantees a fixed tuition rate for all prepaid semesters. The prepaid tuition rates are based on the first term in which the student participates in the prepaid program.&nbsp;This program applies only to students enrolled&nbsp;full-time&nbsp;in an undergraduate degree or pharmacy program.&nbsp;The prepayment plan does <strong>not<\/strong> apply to graduate programs. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.butler.edu\/www\/sites\/19\/2022\/02\/08104247\/Prepaid-Tuition-Summary.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prepaid Tuition Summary<\/a> provides general information. For additional information, please email <a href=\"mailto:studentaccounts@butler.edu\">studentaccounts@butler.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-unpaid-items\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Unpaid Items<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A student who is past due in any debt to the University will have a financial hold placed on his\/her student account. The student is not permitted to register in any school or college of the University and is not entitled to an official or unofficial transcript or grade report from the Office of Registration and Records and will not receive a diploma or be permitted to apply for readmission to Butler University until the indebtedness has been paid in full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any check (electronic or paper) presented to the University that fails to clear the bank&nbsp;is subject to a non-refundable $25 returned check fee. The fee and the returned check amount will be posted to the student&#8217;s account. &nbsp;If the check is for payment of a debt, it will also be considered as nonpayment. A \u201cReturned Check\u201d indicator will be added to the account which prevents enrollment changes, release of transcripts, grades, diplomas and check cashing.&nbsp; The indicator will be removed when the insufficiency has been satisfied.&nbsp;Students&nbsp;may also&nbsp;be held responsible for reasonable collections fees, attorney fees and court costs without relief of evaluation and appraisement law to collect outstanding balances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a student is in possession of university property or owes a particular department for charges not applied to the student account, the department may request a hold to be placed on a student\u2019s account. The <em>Department Requested Hold<\/em> prevents the release of university transcripts, grades, diploma, student refund checks and enrollment changes.&nbsp; The hold is removed when the requesting department confirms receipt of the University property with the Office of Student Accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-outside-billing\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Outside Billing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University will bill a third party for tuition, room and board, and miscellaneous fees provided:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A voucher and\/or written authorization is received by the Office of Student Accounts office <strong>prior<\/strong> to the beginning of each semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Payment will be made on or before the first day of the semester.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The University will not bill any employer or third party who pays upon completion of the course(s). Any balance remaining unpaid on the first day of the semester, will be assessed a monthly finance charge of 1.5% (18% APR). If the third party will not pay the finance charge, the student will be responsible for payment.&nbsp;&nbsp;Students will continue to receive a billing statement directly from Butler University until the account balance is paid in full. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the third-party payer to determine why a delay in payment has occurred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-\"
