Butler Bands Centennial Gala Has Been Cancelled

Attention Butler Band Alumni! We hope you’ll consider coming “Back to Old Fairview” for our Butler Bands Centennial Gala and Reunion, held April 24–26, 2020. The weekend will include opportunities to reunite with other Butler Band alums at a reception and dinner, as well as chances to observe open rehearsals, perform in a reading band led by a variety of Butler conductors past and present, tour the campus, and attend the grand finale concert in Clowes! We’ll be welcoming back several guest conductors from the storied past of Butler Bands, including Dr. Robert Grechesky, Prof. Mike Leckrone, Dr. Daniel Bolin, Maj. Matt Henry (USAF, Ret.), and Capt. Bryan Sherlock, Assistant Director of “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band. The concert will also feature the premieres of several works composed or arranged for the event by Butler faculty (Dr. Michael Schelle and Dr. Frank Felice) and Butler alumni (Sean Sumwalt and Michael Krueger). The concert will also acknowledge the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven by featuring a rare performance of his spectacular showpiece “Wellington’s Victory.” It promises to be a weekend you’ll never forget, and we hope to see you there!

Due to University Response to COVID-19 this event has been Cancelled
