Do we really need ALL the laws of physics? How is the multiverse like the blues?

With stories from her parents and ancestors, her favorite comic books, and her science class swirling around in her imagination, Niyah comes face-to-face with her grown-up self—an astrophysicist who studies multiverse theories!

Join Niyah (present and future), her friend Luis, and a curious cat named Bast on an Afrofuturist journey through the multiverse! The Sun is just one ordinary star among hundreds of billions in our galaxy, the Milky Way. With the world’s most powerful telescopes, we are able to explore more and more of the Universe. What we have found so far has surpassed even the wildest expectations of scientists as well as authors of science fiction. Most stars have planet; it turns out they are more common than we thought. A huge diversity of different worlds is out there, just waiting to be discovered.

EDUCATORS’ GUIDE

Watch the trailer.

  ( function( $ ) {
   let panel = document.getElementById('block_acf-block-69739cc41a35b-acc-content-panel');

   /*
    * Need to set a value for maxHeight to initialize the accordion properly.
    * If we don't include this conditional, the accordion doesn't nicely transition to open/close on the first click.
    */
   if ( 1 == 0 ) {
    panel.style.maxHeight = 0 == 1 ? It also takes a look at some of our more light-hearted seasonal traditions: from gift-giving and kissing under the mistletoe, to songs about lords a-leaping and ladies dancing, and the custom of decking the halls with greenery and candles. St. Nicholas, Sinterklaas, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, and Santa Claus all drop by as well.

Naturally, there is some astronomy in Season of Light. Audiences learn a selection of Northern hemisphere winter constellations, and find out why we even have seasons, as we demonstrate the Sun’s path across the sky throughout the year, and the Earth’s tilt and orbit around the Sun.
