It focuses on developing safe, efficient, and sustainable methods for producing fuels, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, and advanced materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chemical engineers work on scaling laboratory discoveries into large-scale production, designing equipment and processes for chemical reactions, separations, and material handling. The field also emphasizes sustainability, including renewable energy, waste reduction, and environmental protection.
