Happy New Year from the Greater Evansville Butler Community!
I hope 2020 is off to a fantastic start for all of our local Butler alumni and friends. The second half of 2019 was filled with great Butler events in our Greater Evansville Community.
In August, we welcomed several incoming Butler freshman to our Butler family at our annual Summer Send-Off, hosted by Amanda ’92 and Todd Burry ’93. We played games to get to know each other, enjoyed an ice cream social, and heard from a panel of current Butler students on what to expect on campus.
In September, a group of local Butler alumni and friends worked together on a Habitat for Humanity home in the Glenwood neighborhood as part of Bulldogs Into the Streets (BITS), Butler’s annual day of service.
In December, we cheered the Butler Men’s Basketball team on to a victory over Purdue while enjoying chatting with local alumni and friends at Doc’s Sports Bar and in February we watched the Dawgs take on Georgetown at Mr. B's Pizza & Wings. Big thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2020 viewing parties!
We are looking for a handful of local alumni who would be interested in getting more involved by joining our steering committee and helping organize events for the Butler Community. Please contact us if you would like to know more. You can also stay in touch with us by joining our Facebook group. It’s a great way to get to know other local Butler alumni and stay connected to the University!
