About Me:

Hey everyone, I am Cathryn. I am going into my 5th year of pharmacy at Butler University. I am also working toward a minor in Science, Technology & Society! In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and writing. I've been working on NaNoWriMo and am hoping to be published at some point in the near future as well. Most of the time you can catch me studying in the library or browsing the Internet. Oh, and did I mention that I got married last summer?

What have I done since finals ended? Well, let me tell you!

– I forgot my Blackboard password

– Saw The Avengers twice

– Put in 80 (free) hours at my Target internship

– Ate pancakes with Curtis at Bob Evans

– Played some INTENSE miniature golf at Ben and Ari’s (please note their “hompage” title–it made me laugh way too hard)

And that is really it.

I feel like my summer hasn’t really started until just now–right after finals finished, I went straight to Target to do my hours. And since I’m a genius, I decided to schedule myself for 10 hour days to get it done faster. It was a bad choice–I’ve been nothing but exhausted for the past two weeks!

So I’m going to quit everything and join SHIELD. Bye!

We’ve been watching a lot of Jeopardy in this house. Don’t hate. In honor of the end of my semester and also the fact that it is 2:00AM, here is a bunch of random stuff I found on my phone and on my computer.

I sneaked this picture of Sarah at a PAWS meeting. She brought a special tiara for us to pass around and wear while we said what we liked about PAWS, this year’s BACCHUS Area 7 Region BEST PEER EDUCATION GROUP. [confetti rains from the sky]

I’m sorry my phone’s camera is a potato.

OH here’s a good one.

I don’t know where the nearest one is to campus, but here in Suburbia (which is filled with children), we have an Orange Leaf. You cannot go wrong with self-serve frozen yogurt. I always top mine with gummi bears and cookie dough. It’s a weird combination, but that’s just how I roll. If you’re ever up in the Great North, check it out (and if there’s one near campus, buy a tent and go live in front of it).

Okay, and lastly, probably the COOLEST place on campus:

THE OBSERVATORY. It’s so cooooool. I know this is a repost, but it’s worth it. I need to get back in there when it’s sunny and get a better shot of this awesome floor art.

PAWS had a great end of the year celebration dinner at Napolese! It was sooo good. It’s right by campus, too, off of 49th and Pennsylvania–in fact, it’s connected to Cafe Patachou! We got prime seating in Patachou, actually, which is great because with such a big group, it can be hard to hear sometimes.

Napolese buys ingredients from local spots, including the Butler Campus farm! It’s so cool! We were curious what parts of the pizzas we got were from the farm, but I guess the mystery is part of the fun. The food was EXCELLENT and so. was. dessert.

NUTELLA PIZZA. Sorry there’s a creepy blue filter over the picture. I got a new camera app on my phone and I have no idea what I’m doing. ;)

PAWS had such a great year, and I had so much fun being a leader in that group! I learned a lot and now peer education and overall wellness will always have special places in my heart. :)

How to lose your friends and alienate people

Listen to Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Lana del Rey.

JT. I JUST LOVE YOU. I’m also a sucker for puns, if you can really call this a pun. It’s really just … the way he says the phrase in the song. In other news, I’m still aghast at the fact that it is May and my semester ends in less than 12 hours. What is going on??

I don’t know why, but I’ve been listening to Backstreet Boys and NSYNC exclusively for the past couple of weeks. It’s so nostalgic. Backstreet Boys were probably the first CD I got, ever, and I listened to it ALL THE TIME.

Boy bands inspire me to learn about coronary artery stents and seizures and aperspectival objectivity.

But if boy bands aren’t your thing, then here’s some actual respectable music:

HOLD ON by Alabama Shakes. Coming to the Vogue in July ahh!

PS – I will not apologize for the sheer amount of gifs that are appearing on my blog.

Three out of Four!

I have my last final tomorrow and then I am DONE FOR THE SEMESTER.

But I have to say, this week has been grueling. 99 question final Monday with a 10 page paper due that morning was a lot to juggle all at once. After all that was finished, though, I just had some take home final stuff to finish, and then 3 finals. I’m really through the worst of it now!

Which is why it’s really hard for me to get down to studying for this last one. I got 4 hours of sleep last night, and as we all know, I need sleep.

Haha. All of you need to see Downton Abbey so you know why that .gif is so hilarious. And sad. Mostly hilarious.

I took a 3 hour nap after my final, and it is now nearing 11:30 PM, and I am WIRED. So I guess I will be staying up late again studying! Bring it, last final!

These are all over the internet, but I love the “leaving my last final” series. I need to post one now.

Oh, professors.

We have two professors who like to tease each other. One of them told us the other always matches his ties to his powerpoints (which he denied, but I’ve been watching him ever since!). What was totally unexpected was the unrelenting teasing that came from this 2004 powerpoint.

Yes. This is a powerpoint about purchasing a label maker. It gives a history of label makers, then does a consumer report on different kinds of label makers. I am actually intrigued and would totally buy a label maker just because of the information in this powerpoint.

I thought it was hilarious, but I didn’t think I would see it mentioned again on an attendance quiz. I think I literally laughed out loud. Which is totally acceptable because this wasn’t a “quiet time” quiz, otherwise I would be the social pariah of pharmacy school. (It may be too late for that, who knows.)

Butler COPHS: full of comedians. ;)
