Important Dates

Butler offers two non-binding admission programs for fall admission. To be considered for certain programs and scholarships, you should follow the established timelines noted in detail below.

Early Action

If Butler is one of your top choices for college, you should apply for Early Action before November 1. Benefits of applying for Early Action include full scholarship consideration, honors program eligibility, and housing preference. Our Early Action program is non-binding. 

November 1: Deadline for application and all required materials
Mid-December: Admission decisions released
February 1: Priority Deposit Deadline
March 1: Butler FAFSA deadline (Butler code: 001788)
March 15: Notification of financial aid for prospective freshmen begins

April–June: New Student Registration
May 1: National Candidates Reply Date

Regular Decision

If you decide after November 1 to apply to Butler, you'll be eligible for reduced Freshman Academic Scholarship consideration. Here are the dates you'll need to know:

February 1: Deadline for application and all required materials
Mid-February: Admission decisions released

March 15: Notification of financial aid for prospective freshmen begins
April–June: New Student Registration
May 1: National Candidates Reply Date

Rolling Admission

Applications received after February 1 will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

Spring Admission

Butler accepts freshman and transfer students for second semester. Students interested in enrolling in January for the spring semester should apply for admission no later than December 14.
