I am a current junior studying Political Science and Peace and Conflict Studies as well as minors in History and Anthropology on the Pre-Law track. In the Honors program, I have been able to dive deeper into topics of justice and morality that I am passionate about in courses such as my Honors First Year Seminar, Breaking Bad, while also getting to dive into other areas such as learning how to cook and the history of various foods in one of my courses titled Food History, Health, and Happiness. <\/p>\n<p>The Honors Program has given me lifelong friendships (especially with the current members of the Student Honors Council), and the opportunity to write a thesis before graduating from Butler in December. I hope to be a resource for current students navigating their Honors experience as well as prospective students who are interested in seeing everything Butler has to offer. I always love to answer questions and look forward to being an advocate for Honors students. I am a current Junior majoring in Strategic Communication and minoring in Anthropology and Geography &#038; Global Societies. Throughout my time in the Honors Program, I have had the privilege of taking courses such as Hidden Indianapolis, The Modern American Memoir, and Bad Environmentalists. All of these courses have allowed me to learn about topics that I would not typically be discussing in my course schedule. I have made so many amazing friendships through my classes and time on the Student Honors Council and I am forever grateful for my time spent in the program. <\/p>\n<p>During my time in this position, I hope to create meaningful connections for everyone within the Honors Program through fun and engaging activities and events. Through these events and activities, we can foster a culture of empathy, understanding, and solidarity in order to make the Honors Program a community where everyone can thrive. I am a sophomore and a Psychology and Spanish double major on the Pre-Occupational Therapy track. Joining the Honors program was one of the best decisions I made when coming to Butler. Courses such as my Honors First Year Seminar, Women Writing the World, allowed me to engage in meaningful conversations about justice and equal rights. In addition, I had the opportunity to dive deeper into topics that are relevant and meaningful to me, such as one of my classes called The German American experience. <\/p>\n<p>The Honors program has given me meaningful relationships through my Honors First Year Seminar, serving on the Student Honors Council and attending Honors Community Events. I hope to serve as a resource for both incoming and current Honors students and continue to build the community that has provided me with so much. I am a junior Political Science major with a minor in History on the Pre-Law track. Being a part of Butler\u2019s Honors Program has given me the ability to develop important skills as a student and pursue interesting topics outside of my major. My passion for reading and writing was fostered through many of the Honors classes, including my FYS Women Writing the World, The Modern American Memoir, and What Does It Mean to be Spiritual. <\/p>\n<p>The Honors Program has helped me to meet many of my closest friends at Butler, including my two roommates who are the absolute lights of my life. I am very excited to help strengthen the relationship between Honors students and alumni during my time as a Director, as I hope to build working relationships for my fellow students that can last a lifetime.
