however, in the event that you have an unusual situation or a special topic that you feel merits our consideration, you may submit a tutorial request.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To set up a tutorial:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consult with the instructor of the original HN class and see if they would be willing to guide you through the tutorial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You and your instructor should then design a tutorial project and determine the number of credit hours you&#8217;d like to take.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a tutorial request which includes:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>100-word description of your project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of credit hours you&#8217;d like to carry (HN 351 carries one credit hour; HN 352 carries two credit hours)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A list of readings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A list of assignments, papers, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The request has to be signed by you and the instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A letter from the instructor explaining their willingness to take on this independent study and how it fits within the goals and objectives of the University Honors curriculum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit your tutorial request to the Honors Program Office (JH 116). Requests are considered by the Honors Director and Assistant Director, and in some cases the University Honors Board. If your request is approved, we will issue you an add form, which needs to be signed by the instructor, your academic advisor, and the <a href=\"mailto:metzler@butler.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Honors Faculty Director<\/a> before it can be turned in to Registration and
