They diverge significantly from the traditional introductory courses taught at many colleges and universities, as well as from learning experiences offered in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. As a result, Core courses ordinarily will be completed at Butler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, there are alternate ways of fulfilling one or more areas of the Core Curriculum.&nbsp; In general, students may fulfill areas in which they have a specified number of hours of disciplinary courses.&nbsp;Some areas of the core may be satisfied with Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) or the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP); see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.butler.edu\/registrar\/transferring-credits-to-butler\/credit-through-testing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this page<\/a>&nbsp;for specific equivalences. The alternate ways to fulfill each area are outlined on the webpage for each component as well as in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.butler.edu\/academics\/core-operating-manual\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Core Operating Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current students should check their Advisement Report to see whether they have completed the various Core Curriculum requirements.
