2022 Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for 2022 benefits begins on October 18and ends on October 29, 2021.  You can find benefit plan information including premiums, deductibles, copays, changes, and highlights on the 2022 Benefits Open Enrollment website or in the 2022 Employee Benefits Guide. 

We understand that minimal benefit changes don't always mean minimal questions. For open enrollment-2022 we presented the Benefits Open Enrollment Information sessions and you can find a pdf version of the presentation on the 2022 Open Enrollment website. You can also access the video presentation (coming soon) on the 2022 Benefits Open Enrollment website or by clicking the link in this message.

2022 Open Enrollment ZOOM Q&A sessions - see the schedule below - Join the meeting and ask your questions during our 2022 Open Enrollment Q&A sessions. The HR Benefits Team will host several online ZOOM sessions for almost instant access to the team and have your open enrollment questions answered while you are completing your online enrollment.

How do 2022 premium rates compare to 2021 premium rates?

Medical, Dental, and Vision premiums for 2022 remain the same as 2021 premiums. You can review benefits premiums in the 2022 Employee Benefits Guide or the 2022 Benefits Snapshot.

How do I enroll in benefits for 2022? Can I get help with my enrollment?

To enroll, re-enroll, or waive coverage you can: 

Login to my.butler at work or at home and use the attached 2022 OE Election Instructions to find your enrollment portal and complete your elections.

Do I need to take action if I am already enrolled in Butler Benefits?

Yes! Every employee, eligible for Butler's health benefits packages, must enroll, re-enroll, or waive coverage before the deadline of October 29, 2021. 

Benefits Team members and HR Consultants will be reaching out by email and phone call to employees, and their supervisors, who haven't completed their enrollment by end of business on Thursday 10/28/2021.

Are there incentives for me to complete my 2022 Open Enrollment early?

2022 OE - Breathe, Laugh, Unwind & Enroll (BLUE) Raffle:

Be among the first to complete your 2022 open enrollment elections and join us for a Free Eye Mask Massage and receive a BLUE Raffle Entry!

The first 100 employees to complete their 2022 open enrollment elections will be entered into our BLUE Raffle!  Even if you are not among the first 100,  please join us in JH052 on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, for a complimentary, relaxing eye mask massage performed by Chalant Eye Spa. Participation in the complimentary Eye Massage event is on a first come first served basis and requires proof of completed 2022 open enrollment.

If you prefer not to have an eye massage, just come for a visit with the Benefits Team and bring your 2022 open enrollment confirmation statement to receive a token of our appreciation for making open enrollment a top priority!

Are there incentives for me to become more active in my healthcare management and more focused on my personal well-being?

  • HRC Membership: Free to full-time Faculty and Staff and discounted to $3 per day for part-time Faculty and Staff. 
  • Annual Well-Care Visit:  Butler pays $100 each for employees and spouses on a Butler healthcare plan upon completing an annual well-care checkup with a primary care provider (PCP). Submit the Butler University Wellness Incentive Form to the Benefits Office to receive your incentive payment. 
  • New for 2022 we have expanded the medical benefit to include the Orth Indy Orthopedic Surgery incentive. Read more about the $750 incentive for qualified procedures performed at Ortho Indy locations in the 2022 Employee Benefits Guide.
  • Apta Health Care Coordinators: Butler's medical benefit plans provide access to Apta Health Care Coordinators who can assist with finding in-network providers and services as well as assisting with pre-certifications and referrals.
