Internship Options

"While in DC I worked
for the The Boeing Company. An opportunity like that was a dream
come true for me. It really gave me a chance to do some real work,
in a real corporate setting. I was charged with starting my own
project. I started it from scratch and now it is something that
Boeing will use for years to come. Not only was Boeing great but
being in DC was an amazing experience that I would not trade for
the world. I made great friends and have great memories."

"I am a
chemistry major at Butler and while I was in D.C. I wanted to
pursue work in a related field. I was an intern at the Food and
Drug Administration (FDA). I worked in their molecular Biology
Branch and really enjoyed it! I feel the work I did was of
substance and that I got a good taste of lab work. My supervisor
was a good teacher and treated me like a colleague."

"My internship was amazing. My boss and the other people at the
American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) were extremely kind to
me. I had my own office, computer and phone line so that I could
track down archival material on midwifery from all over the USA. I
also was sent to the National Library of Medicine where I went
through the ACNM's archives. This taught me a lot about
organization and archival research that I had not known. Finally, I
went to the Frontier School of Nurse-Midwifery in Kentucky -- the
oldest school of nurse-midwifery in the US still in operation --
for a week to conduct research."
