CUE Monitoring Projects
Hoosier RiverWatch
Butler has adopted approximately two miles of the White River that runs
from Rocky Ripple to the Michigan Bridge. This portion of the river
flows along the western side of campus, behind Gallahue Hall. CUE
student interns receive training and become certified through the
department of natural resources as Hoosier RiverWatch Stream Monitors.
Interns perform sampling at various sites along the river and the
central canal. Sampling efforts are conducted to monitor urban effects
on water quality. All data is submitted to a statewide database and a
Butler maintained database.
