Honorary DegreeThe University's conferral of an honorary degree provides the University with an opportunity to recognize an individual who has lived a life of extraordinary accomplishment, distinguished service, and significant contribution to the University, to society, and/or to the world. An honorary degree is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated throughout his or her career and service a commitment to the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and concern for the public good.
