Carole Tavel earned a radio-television degree from Butler. She has been active in community service in Indianapolis, including volunteering as a docent for the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. She is a member of the American Association of Individual Investors and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal. She holds degrees in history and English from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.
