In 1999, Rob was awarded an Arts Council of Indianapolis Creative Renewal Fellowship. The Lilly Endowment makes these funds available for artists of all disciplines who "positively influence, affect or enrich the local artistic and cultural community." The grant funded exploration in Eastern European theatre techniques (specifically the integration of live and prerecorded video with live-action theatre) and time spent abroad (specifically Prague) leading to the development and production of ShadowApe Theatre Company's production of Rope.
